Local and Global Missions

We believe God has called us to identify, equip, and send qualified believers into the world to advance the gospel and to make disciples.

Our Mission

Our mission is to help people find and follow Jesus, here on the Central Coast and beyond. In the area of global missions, our desire is to reach groups of people who have not yet heard the Good News of Jesus Christ and to support the continuing work of discipleship and equipping the saints in locations all around the world. We seek to aid in the development of indigenous Christian leaders, who are planting or will plant churches that are faithful to the Scriptures but are also relevant to its national and cultural contexts.

amor ministries

For well over 20 years, Grace Central Coast has worked with San Diego-based Amor Ministries, to send teams to the Tijuana area to build houses (and sometimes churches), as well as to do children’s ministry. All of this happens in the space of a week or less.

youth world

Youth World exists to identify, teach, and equip leaders to impact young people and families to be disciples of Jesus Christ. This short-term mission experience runs about ten days, and the teams have spent time in both Quito, the capital of Ecuador, and in villages in the Amazon jungle.

south asia

Teams have been traveling to south Asia for a number of years. Groups returning from South Asia come back challenged by the zeal and vision of the national leaders and workers and are spurred on in their own spiritual walk and call to help people find and follow Jesus. These experiences run about ten days.

Special Partnerships

we have developed strong partnerships with several organizations who are helping people find and follow Jesus using a variety of strategies.

Lifewater International is a non-profit organization based in San Luis Obispo, which brings clean water, improved health, and the hope of the gospel to poor families in rural Africa and Southeast Asia.

Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) is an international ministry that helps children find and follow Jesus. Grace supports CEF and sponsors a Good News Club in a local elementary school in South County.

Gideons International distributes copies of God’s Word across the US and around the world to a wide range of locations: hotels, convalescent homes, shelters, prisons, and more.

Who We Support

Grace Central Coast provides regular financial support for 24 missionaries, as well as prayer and occasional assistance to several others. Because of security concerns, we do not post the names and information of those missionaries we support; however, the impact of their ministry is being felt on every continent except Antarctica. Work in missions takes many shapes and forms, and Grace missionaries are involved in such diverse areas as church planting, campus evangelism and discipleship, Bible translation, aviation, film and broadcast media, evangelistic camp work, training national leadership, and equipping and building up existing local, indigenous churches. The agencies who provide support and resources for our missionaries include Converge, Cru, Far Reaching Ministries, InterVarsity, Life for India/Overseas Christian Ministries, Living Water, Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF), Navigators, One Challenge, Pioneers, Reach Ministries International, Servant Partners, Tecate Mission International, The Evangelical Alliance Mission (TEAM), Trans World Radio (TWR), and Wycliffe Bible Translators.
